Community Education Center Opens Its Doors in Anambra State The Bar JUNI & Irene Menakaya Foundation International is delighted to announce the official opening of a new Community Education Center (CEC) in Anambra State, Nigeria. The center, the latest addition to the Foundation's growing network of community learning hubs, is now open to residents of all ages and backgrounds. The Anambra CEC features a technology-enabled computer lab, a curated community library stocked with educational and reference materials, and dedicated spaces for adult literacy classes and vocational skills training. The facility was built in partnership with local government and community stakeholders, and will be managed by a team of trained community educators. Serving Every Member of the Community Unlike traditional school environments, the Community Education Center model is designed to be fully inclusive. Morning sessions cater to school-age children who may have dropped out of formal education, while afternoon and evening programs are tailored for adults seeking to improve their literacy, numeracy, and digital skills. Weekend sessions offer practical vocational training in areas such as tailoring, basic accounting, and mobile technology maintenance. A Hub for Lifelong Learning Engr. Chuma Menakaya, President and CEO of the Foundation, described the Anambra CEC as a model for what community-led education can achieve. "When a community comes together around learning, the impact multiplies. This center belongs to the people of Anambra — we are simply here to support and resource it," he said. The Foundation encourages individuals and organizations who share its vision of accessible education to explore partnership opportunities.
